Fair season is in full swing! And I kicked off mine with a visit to Stoughton, WI for the 94th annual Stoughton Fair. It’s a rather small event, but had the usual foods, games and assortment of farm animals available for your pleasure.

The highlight of my visit was meeting Cherise, who was running the Balloon Darts game of chance. It was very slow the first night and Cherise was able to chat a bit with me: she is from South Africa and started with the carnival four months ago in Miami, and is doing it as a way to travel and make money. Cherise said she has met a lot of interesting characters thus far. I plan to catch up with her later in the season to see how things are going.
