We are once again standing on at the edge of the cliff. Another privileged, affluent white male, who has committed sexual assaults and expressed extreme anger and vehement denial, is being rewarded for his privilege and his service to to those in power. Brett Kavanaugh will be given a seat on the bench of the highest court in the United States. He was nominated by another sexual predator, the president of the United States, chosen because he believes a sitting president should not be held accountable for laws broken while in office. Circumventing proper vetting and scrutiny, Kavanaugh’s nomination has been rammed through by other privileged, affluent, old, cranky, white males who feel a need to punish the world every chance they get.

This photo series is from a protest against the nomination and appointment of Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. It was organized by: YDSA UW-Madison, Bell Magazine, International Socialist Organization – Madison, PAVE UW-Madison, and the Madison Socialist Alternative. Most have never heard of these groups. Most would dismiss them in an instant if they did, especially with the word, the hugely misunderstood word, “socialist” in the title. But it’s these groups, led by young adults who are aware and engaged, that are taking it to the streets, marching with fists raised, and giving their voices to those who don’t have one, and to those who won’t use the one they have.
